Laban Movement Analysis 1

  • 1. Participants will identify and describe the foundational structures and functions of the human body (including muscular, skeletal, and movement systems) and apply this knowledge to inform movement-based clinical assessment and intervention.
  • 2. Participants will demonstrate understanding of core therapeutic skills—including attunement, empathic reflection, and mirroring—and explain their role in establishing and maintaining an effective therapeutic relationship within movement-based practice.
  • 3. Participants will analyze and apply movement observation frameworks, integrating both qualitative and quantitative data, to assess and communicate intrapersonal and interpersonal movement patterns in clinical contexts.
  • 4. Participants will evaluate the influence of cultural, social, and historical factors on movement behavior and apply culturally responsive approaches to movement assessment, interpretation, and intervention.
  • 5. Participants will assess the impact of their own movement patterns, biases, and socio-cultural identities on the therapeutic relationship and demonstrate strategies to address power dynamics and enhance culturally attuned clinical practice.
