The Therapeutic Dance Certificate (TDC)

Description

The Therapeutic Dance Certificate (TDC) is an innovative program created and taught by experienced facilitators of dance and movement from the fields of dance/movement therapy, higher education, and professional dance. Upon completing this certificate, you will be able to create a classroom or environment where participants are encouraged to express themselves freely through movement and dance, fostering joy, building community, and nurturing creativity. You will cultivate your own grounded sense of presence and non-judgmental witnessing through a highly experiential curriculum that includes not only moving and dancing but also incorporates other modalities such as drawing, writing, and discussion. Our instructors expertly combine their own knowledge and expertise with the experiences and wisdom of the students in the room, creating a collaborative and interactive classroom where discovery thrives.

This program is suitable for you if:

•  You already identify as a dancer, and may have studied and/or taught various forms of dance.
•  You understand the power of expressing the self through the art of dance.
•  You are interested in dance as a healing modality.
•  You are at least 21 years of age and/or have completed an undergraduate degree in any major.
•  You do not want to become a dance/movement therapist but still want to learn how to facilitate expressive dance movement for individuals, groups, or communities.
