Alexa Palmer

Alexa Palmer was born and raised in New Jersey/New York and is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist currently working within a Partial Hospitalization Program in the Bronx, NY. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2014 and completed her Graduate Laban Certified Movement Analyst certification in 2015, when she first started working with inpatient psychiatric patients. Shortly thereafter she had been hired by New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital to co-create their inpatient creative arts therapy program. She has served as Secretary and President of the New York State Chapter (NYSADTA) of the national American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA). Alexa has been published in the American Journal of Dance Therapy (AJDT) and authored a chapter in the book entitled “Creative Arts Therapy Careers: Succeeding as a Creative Professional.” She has presented several grand rounds and didactics on dance/movement therapy and psychiatry. She is currently a supervisor to first- and second-year Dance/Movement Therapy students as well as supervises those seeking board certification in dance/movement therapy. Since 2021, Alexa has started a teaching assistantship at Embodied Education Institute of Chicago (EEIC) for the graduate Laban Movement Analysis courses and works as a marketing assistant to EEIC faculty. Alexa is currently in the process of starting her own private practice.
Ingrid Lacey

Ingrid Jennifer Lacey, MA, LPC, BC-DMT, GLCMA, NCC, holds an undergraduate degree in Rhetoric & Communication from the University of California, Davis and masters’ degrees in Comparative Educational Policy/Slavic Studies from the University of Illinois & Dance/Movement Therapy & Counseling from Columbia College Chicago. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), a board-certified dance/movement therapist (BC-DMT), and a certified movement analyst (GLCMA).
Ingrid was employed as a Rehabilitation Therapist (Dance) at Napa State Hospital (NSH), a forensic psychiatric facility, where she developed a variety of innovative treatment groups, including Mind Body Competency for those found Incompetent to Stand Trial. She served as guest lecturer in 2015 for Columbia College Chicago in Forensic DMT, and has presented workshops at local agencies and national conferences.
She started her private therapy practice in Marin County and the Napa Valley specializing in anxiety and mood disorders. Upon relocating to Atlanta, she was employed as a behavioral health clinician specializing in psychiatric triage and assessment while building her current practice. Ingrid has been in private practice in Atlanta for the past 6 years as a somatic psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. She is currently training as a Chi for Two Embodiment Coach, a trauma informed practice to facilitate the energetic dance of healthy relationships. Ingrid enjoys being a part of the diverse dance community of Atlanta.
