In this sexual harassment prevention and response workshop, participants will learn what constitutes sexual harassment, what to do if one experiences or witnesses sexual harassment, how to report sexual harassment, and related laws and policies. Participants will have the opportunity to apply strategies for bystander intervention in situations involving sexual harassment, counseling someone who has experienced unconsented sexual conduct, and the overall prevention of sexual harassment.

This workshop will draw upon the bountiful resource of clinicians’ embodiment to deepen their understanding of Thomas Kitwood’s Person-Centered Care as a lens for working with people who have dementia. Participants will explore pairing the basic tenets of Kitwood’s theory with nonverbal communication skills as a means of enhancing their communication and relationships with the people for whom they provide care.

Course Description: While Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is often the first-line approach for OCD, dance/movement therapy (DMT) has potential to increase treatment outcomes when integrated alongside ERP treatment, in particular when addressing somatic manifestations of OCD. Participans will learn practical strategies for incorporating movement-based interventions into OCD treatment through a combination of didactic instruction and experiential practices.
